Produced for the DNCR Office of Education and Outreach and the North Carolina American Indian Heritage Commission, this video highlights an educator workshop for the DNCR’s 2026 Teacher Ambassadors. Public school teachers from across North Carolina visited Morrow Mountain State Park and Town Creek Indian Mound, two sites of historical and sacred significance for the state’s indigenous peoples, and discussed how to better educate their students on America’s indigenous history.
